
Giovanni Dardano
Video Maker and Graphic Designer with experience in film, television and theatre.
After the studies at the LiceoClassico ‘P. Galluppi’ in Catanzaro, he graduated at the National Training Centre for Cinematography in Rome, then he attended the Degree in Artistic Design for the Enterprise with the specialization in Graphic Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Catanzaro. He also attended several training and specialisation courses on Video Editing, Motion Graphics and 3D Modelling. He widened his knowledge in this field by working in close contact with film and television productions and theatre companies.
In 2013 he participated as an intern in the Film Production of the film ‘I milionari’ directed by Alessandro Piva and the film ‘Tre tocchi’ directed by Marco Risi; he collaborated with ‘AIC Associazione Italiana Autori della Fotografia Cinematografica’ ((Italian Association of Cinematographic Photographers), with the directors of photography Ugo Menegatti and Mauro Marchetti and with the Web Production ‘Seminal Tube’.
Since 2015, he has carried out the post-production of numerous television programmes, collaborating with various national broadcasters, ranging from fashion to sport, from gameplay to medicine.
In 2017 he wrote and directed the docufilm ‘Venerdi Santo’ about the history of Calabria’s most ancient folkloristic tradition. In 2019 he directed ‘Marina: storia di un comunista’ (Marina: story of a communist), a docufilm about Domenico Vavalà, the historical mayor of a small village in the Calabrian hinterland. In 2019 he directed ‘Xenìa – Ospitalità’, a short film that won the competition ‘Il Bello della Calabria’ (The Beauty of Calabria) organised by ICOM. In 2020 he collaborated on the video production of the project ‘Bluocean Workshop: the great photographers of National Geographic in Calabria’. In 2021 he edited and directed the report on the restoration and scientific studies carried out on the painting ‘Patrocinio di Santa Barbara’ by MattiaPreti.
Many are also the collaborations with important theatre companies for which he creates video blogs, web columns, playbills, brochures and teasers of the shows staged.
